AUGUST 29, 2015 - "SIERRA BULLET MATCH" - SAINT ANTOINE - RESULTS

Here it is - the end of August and pretty much the end of summer. There is a fall feeling to the air - especially in the mornings. This is a little different from other years as the "Sierra Bullet Match" has usually been shot in the spring. The day  began a little cool, which was not unwelcome during the drive to the range, but warmed up very nicely. The winds remained very light although they did switch from predominantly right to left.

This year we decided to hold this match after the
Championships in Ottawa so that the bullets that Sierra provides for this match would be available immediately. In previous years, the bullets would come back from Ottawa with one of our shooters and then there would be great difficulties in distributing them to people who had attended the match in the spring.

The Sierra Bullet Co. - "The Bullet Smiths" gives each provincial Fullbore Assn. 155gn, 30cal bullets to give out at this match - either as prizes or simply as gifts to each shooter. This year, the Chairperson decided to give each of the 15 shooters one box of bullets as incentive to shoot this match. We thank the Sierra Bullet Co. for their generous donation - something many shooters look forward to.
The Match was organized at the Saint Antoine Range by Ron Surette, who was the Range Officer and who prepared the range for this match, and Michelle Cormier, who was the Match Director, registrar and treasurer for this event. Many thanks to both for their work.

The Match was shot at 300 meters and consisted of unlimited sighters + 20 for the first relay and 2+20 at 300 meters for two additional relays shot on the ISSF target. It was very helpful that the electronic target scoring was done on this target on the display. Many thanks to Adam MacDonald for his work on this.

AUGUST 2015 - RAMBLINGS OF A SHOOTING BUM

Late August 2015 !

WOW !

It sure has been a busy summer. So far I've driven over 6500 kilometers and have fired over 1100 rounds in competition.
I've just returned home and am back to work after a 3 week road trip to compete in the World Long Range Championships, the Palma Team Match and finally our Canadian Target Rifle Championships. This trip has been an opportunity to compete with very high level target rifle shooters and experience the highs and lows that drive my addiction to competitive shooting.

AUGUST 8, 2015 - LONG-RANGE PRACTICE - RESULTS

THANKS TO ADAM FOR SENDING THESE RESULTS:

Today was good, 7 of us shooting. We did 3 strings of 2+15 at 900. The wind was very tricky, it was a strong wind directly towards us. The flags were very random, and we realized the mirage was more readable. It would completely change direction from 1 minute Left to 1 minute Right between shots sometimes.

Here's the scores:

Adam MacD.: 210V20          Ahmed: 174V6
Paul B.: 191V6                    Gord H.: 170V4
Harrison B.: 190V8               Conrad L.: 64V3 (one string)
Moe B.: 183V4
