I invite you all to the 144th Annual Prize Meet of the Prince Edward Island Rifle Association.The event is going to take place at Alexandra Point Range on the 6th and 7th of August 2016.

MATCH COMMITTEE: Shooting and scoring appeals must first be made to the Range Safety Officer on the firing line. If these cannot be resolved, an appeal may be directed to the Match Committee. One representative from each province will be required for a Match Committee names TBA.
Electronic target marking will be used during the APM.
The system will use display panels at the firing line. If you have your own smart phone, WiFi compatible e-reader please bring them. Help will be available 0730 hrs to get your devices set up for the activity.
Squadding will be three shooters per target. Squadding/target assignment will be done prior to 0830hrs both days.

1. Wendy Horton Match
This match is sponsored in part by members of the association to commemorate the life and marksmanship of the late Wendy Horton. Wendy was the Canadian Female Champion in 1985.
Range: 300 yards, 2 sighters & 10 scoring
2. Match II-Sports Hall of Famers
Range: 500 yards, 2 sighters & 10 scoring
3. Vesey’s Seeds Ltd. Match
This well known Island company donates funds annually for this match.
Range: 300 yards, 2 sighters & 10 scoring
4. George Rogers Memorial Match
The family of this well known Island marksman presents a trophy for this annual competition. Additional sponsorship funding for prizes is provided by George Rogers Jr.
Ranges: 500 yards, 2 sighters & 10 scoring,
600 yards, 2 sighters & 10 scoring
5. Perley Taylor Match
The family of the late Perley Taylor presents this annual challenge trophy, along with sponsorship of the prize list.
Range: 600 yards, 2 sighters & 10 scoring

Day Two - 0830 a.m. start
1. Macdonald Stewart Match
The Mary MacLennan Trophy, presented by the Macdonald Stewart Foundation, is in honour of the late Mary MacLennan, the first woman member of the Canadian Rifle Team in Bisley, England in 1951. The trophy and award is made to the Island target rifle shooter standing highest in the match. An additional trophy, donated by the Association, will be awarded to the match winner.
Range: 500 yards, 2 sighters & 10 scoring
600 yards, 2 sighters & 10 scoring
2. Jones Memorial Match
This match is in honour of P.O. Arthur M. Jones, son of Major J.M. & Mrs Jones. Arthur Jones was killed in action while on a bombing mission over Vauneka, Germany. Major Jones has provided substantial funds to allow this match to be run in perpetuity.
Range: 300 yards, 2 sighters & 10 scoring
500 yards, 2 sighters & 10 scoring
600 yards, 2 sighters & 10 scoring
Final Statistics and Range Teardown:
1530 hrs - all shooters are asked to assist with range teardown
RESULTS Posted and Challenge Period:
1630 hrs - shooters have 15 minutes for the examination of results and to initiate challenges
AWARD Presentation on the Range: 1645/1700 hrs at Range Hut just inside gate.
Nota Bene
ALL DCRA SAFETY PROTOCOLS WILL BE OBSERVED
1. The range will be opened at 0730hrs each day
2. Pre-registration is encouraged. Registration at the range will be at 0730hr sharp.
3. The first match on Saturday will begin at 08300 hrs sharp. On Sunday the first match will start at 0830hrs sharp. Please be on time for your relay on each subsequent match.
4. Time scheduling will be tight and the RSO has been asked to follow schedule closely .
YOUR CO-OPERATION IS NEEDED - PLEASE BE READY TO SHOOT WHEN YOUR RELAY IS CALLED FORWARD.
5. All rifles will have a chamber flag inserted into the breech OR MUST have the bolt removed except when firing.
6. Prior to removal from the firing point all rifles must be cleared by your shooting partner, then by the Range Safety Officer.
7. There will be two classes of shooting - TR and FTR . Prizes will be awarded if there are at least three entries in a class.
8. Ties will be broken by count back.
9. We will break for lunch but competitors are advised to bring snacks and/or lunches as well as their preferred non-alcoholic beverage to the range for each day. Water will be provided.
10. One hundred and thirty two(132) rounds will be required to shoot the entire APM - not including shoot-offs/practice shots.
11. At the first match of each day only, practice shots will be allowed until you are on paper. After that only 2 sighting shots and the shots on record will be allowed.
12. F-Class competitors will form the first relay to fire at all ranges, followed by relays of TR rifle shooters. F-class competitors will shoot on the DCRA F-class targets(1/2 MOA center).
This will allow for re-setting e-marking equipment to the correct target configuration.
