ANDY GUNTER AWARD WINNER MICHAEL LUTES |
It is with great honour that the Royal New Brunswick Rifle Association Board of Directors announces Michael Lutes as the 2016 recipient of the Andy Gunter Award for Meritorious Service.
Michael Lutes is a long time shooter, competitor and supporter of the sport. He began shooting competitively in long-range Fullbore prone shooting as a teenager. Since then he has competed in matches in New Brunswick, Atlantic Canada, the Nationals in Ottawa, the "Mini-Palma" between the Maritime Provinces and the New England States, and has qualified to represent Canada at Bisley in England.
Michael has seved the RNBRA in many ways as a board member. He has represented New Brunswick at the Dominion of Canada Rifle Association.
His biggest contribution to the RNBRA was when he stepped forward to fill to office of President following the unexpected resignation of the then President, the 1st Vice-president and the Treasurer. Michael worked tirelessly to bring the organization back to its true mission of promoting excellence in shooting with open and honest governance, to moving the RNBRA forward and making it a home for shooters in New Brunswick.
We are fortunate to have Michael Lutes in the shooting community and thank him for his tireless efforts on behalf of shooters.
