RCR CENTENNIAL MATCH - RESULTS

The RCR Centennial Match was fired on Saturday, July 7th 2012 at the Saint Antoine Gun Club Range. The Match Director was Ron Surette and the RO was Michelle Cormier. Many thanks to both for their hard work - it sure paid off as the shoot went very well and 14 shooters had a terrific day of shooting with some really great scores posted.
It was good to see Ken Geddes out for a match - his first in several years. Also Francis Bezeau for his second match in quite some time. Welcome back fellows!
Course of fire was 2 sighters and 10 on score at 300, 400, 500 and 600 meters. Many shooters had not shot the 400 meter range before - turned out to be a good experience.
We were really lucky with the weather - rain and thunder showers were forecast but the day was mostly hot and dry with one thunder shower during the last relay fired. Winds were mostly civil but fooled some a little, this writer was no exception.
Thanks to both Michelle Cormier and John Holleran for taking the pictures below:

SIERRA ISSF STYLE MATCH - RESULTS

The Sierra Match was shot on Saturday June 30, 2012 at the St Antoine Gun Club Range. It was comprised of 3 relays of 20 shots on score with unlimited sighters for the first relay and 2 sighters for the next 2 relays. Each shooter completed his/her entire relay while his/her partner scored. The match was shot at 300 meters on ISSF targets where the centre bull is worth 10 points and each ring further out is worth one point less.
A big thank-you goes to Ron Surette and Don Coleman for sharing the duties of Match Director and to Michelle Cormier for being RO for the day. The match went extremely well with everyone enjoying the shoot and social time.
The first shot went downrange at about 9:00am when it was a bit overcast. Very shortly after that the sky cleared and it became quite warm. Winds were light throughout the entire day.
Thanks are also due to Sierra - "The Bulletsmiths" (link here) for their generous annual donation of fullbore bullets as prizes for this match.

SPRINGFIELD 1/2K & 1/2Mile CHALLENGE - RESULTS

This match, shot on Saturday June 23, 2012 was the first mid-range/long-range match held at the Fredericton Recreational Shooting Assn. Springfield range. Many thanks to Daniel for organising the match, for being the RO and for installing and maintaining his electronic scoring system which made scoring so much more efficient - we like it a lot!! Despite the weather predictions, ten shooters were on hand and fired 2 sighters and 10 on score twice at 500M and twice at 800M. It was great to see a junior shooter, Tanner Anderson,  join us to give long range shooting a try. Despite the abundant wildlife in the form of mosquitos and flies, it was a heck of a lot of fun for everyone and thankfully the weather cooperated with no rain or wind.

Trials for I.M. and B.T. team matches

We've got a full weekend coming up, see our schedule.  This Sat-9-June Bob Kierstead will run the RNBRA Smallbore Championship at Springfield Range.  There's a 60 shot prone match and a 20 shot standing match - hope to see you there!

This Sun-10-June will be our second long range match of the year, the Stapleford Coleman, run by match director Matt Wolf.  We will use the scores fired in the Stapleford Coleman match to select the New Brunswick team that will travel next weekend Sat-Sun-16-17-June to Prince Edward Island to shoot the Intermaritime Match and the British Team Match.  These two team matches consist of 5 TR shooters and 3 F-TR shooters.

On the range immediately following the Stapleford Coleman match, we'll have a brief meeting to select a Captain for the teams and to make arrangements for the match and the trip.
