OCTOBER 21, 2018 - LONG RANGE STEEL CHALLENGE

Thanks to Mark McMullin for the report and pics.
The RNBRA Fullbore section held a Long Range Steel Challenge match on the Enniskillen range complex, near Camp Petersville. The range is part of the 5 CDSB Gagetown Training Area. The match was loosely styled after PRS matches, which are gaining popularity in the US and other parts of Canada. There were 8 stages in total, with steel targets from 350m all the way out to 995m.  Stages were shot from the prone or off a barricade.
15 competitors from NB, NS, and PEI braved the chilly October winds to shoot a challenging course of fire under very difficult conditions. The wind blew all day, coming mainly from the north, but occasionally switching to the north west. The afternoon saw gusts near 40kph.  In true rookie match director style, I forgot to collect the score cards so I am unable to say who had the high score for the day. On the flip side, no one rushed to hand in their score card either.

I would like to thank Range control at 5 CDSB Gagetown for their support throughout the planning phases and during the range. Without their support, we wouldn’t be able to conduct a range of this style.   I’d also like to thank the RNBRA fullbore section for allowing me to conduct a range outside the norm. A special thanks goes to Peter at Hirsch Precision, who sent a Terrapin X up with the NS shooters, to ensure we had accurate ranges for the competitors.

The RNBRA fullbore section hopes to be able to offer this type of shooting again in the future. Anyone interested should contact the fullbore section.

OCTOBER 13, 2018 - ALL COMERS MATCH - RESULTS

Thanks to Don Coleman for sending this report.
The last Fullbore Match of the season indicated that winter was on the way. Cloudy conditions and a temperature of 5C and Westerly winds at the start of the match continued until the end of the day. It warmed up to 7C with a few rain drops just as we finished putting targets away.

At the end of the All Comers Match we moved back to 900 meters and Adam MacDonald had the highest score with a 50. Andrew Justason had problems with two rounds at 600 which dropped his score considerably.  A very enjoyable day.

SEPTEMBER 29, 2018 - ANY RIFLE/ANY SIGHTS MATCH - RESULTS

Thanks to Adam MacDonald for the report on this match.
"Six shooters came out on Saturday for the Any Rifle/Any Sight match. We fired at 300, 500, and 900 meters and had a great time. We kept score for fun even though there was quite a variety of rifles, and we all fired on the TR targets. We had a lot of new shooters, Perry Wright shooting his first match, and Andrew Justason, Dick Platt, and Paul Plume all within their first few matches.

Don Coleman: 48-6, 49-4, 47-0
Andrew Justason: 49-4, 49-3, 50-4
Adam MacDonald: 44-0, 48-4
Dick Platt: 37-1, 29-0, 37-0
Perry Wright: 48-1, 47-6, 47-3

Sorry, no pictures this time..."
