The weather today was "variable" (to be charitable). The day started off quite innocently and nicely with just a little mirage but then went quickly to hot and sunny with lots of mirage. We also experienced 2 to 3 minutes of wind in some instances during the second relay. Then we had a bit of a thunder shower during the 3rd relay (good cause to get off the open range and let go of our "lightning rods"). Thankfully, that went away quickly leaving us with a mixed ceiling of sun and clouds that gave a perfect sight picture. However, now we had to deal with a boiling mirage between shots which was challenging to say the least.
Despite all this, some pretty good shooting was done today as you can see from the scores.
A good number of shooters came from all across the province for this event. We welcomed a few shooters that had made a long journey from Quebec as well as a few from the Magdalen islands. Hey - Saint Gabriel is now a national destination!"
