JULY 16, 2017 - FULLBORE APM - AWARDS CEREMONY

After the shooting was completed and the results were verified by the shooters we held the Awards Ceremony. The RNBRA Fullbore section was very pleased to have The Honourable Jocelyne Roy Vienneau, Lt. Governor of New Brunswick make the presentations for the Governor General's Medals for marksmanship and also for the Prince of Wales Trophy which is the oldest trophy (for any event) in continuous use in Canada. It is presently on
display in Government House in Fredericton

Prior to the presentations, her honour and her husband were given a demonstration of Long-range Fullbore Shooting. They were able to follow the shots on the electronic target marking system one of which was donated by Silver Mountain Targets for this match. After this demonstration, Her Honour gave a speech about the Prince of Wales' visit to Canada and New Brunswick in 1860 at which time he gave the trophy to the provincial shooting organization which later became the Royal New Brunswick Rifle Association
